Black nurses’ personal experiences should be elevated and considered in developing strategies that make these impactful, overdue changes. WebWe envision a world where Black women are healthy, thriving, and free. The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness is an outgrowth of work begun by Founder Lisa M. Peyton, after losing her mother, Roberta Peyton, on May 26, 2006 at the age of 64. Roberta died of heart disease, which affects nearly 50,000 African-American women annually.
